I received my Masters Degree in Psychology in 1996 while simultaneously completing all required coarse work towards a PhD in Psychology. In the Fall of 1997 I relocated to Temecula, CA with my husband and two sons and in 1998 began practicing as a Marriage and Family Intern. During my internship I worked in a private practice setting with individuals and couples. Additionally, I traveled throughout San Diego County conducting behavioral and educational assessments for children with autism and their families. In 2002, I became Licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California (License #38834) and incorporated as Rancho Family Counseling, Inc.. This allowed me to transition into a full time private practice. Over the years I have been diligent in continuing to strengthen my knowledge in area’s of interest. I have been trained extensively and Certified as a Sexual Addiction Therapist Supervisor; a Multiple Addictions Therapist Supervisor; trained in E.M.D.R. 1 & 2 through the Traumatic Stress Network; and in “P.I.T.” by Pia Melody, Senior Clinical Director at the Meadows. I have also studied and received training from Terrance Real LCSW of the Relational Life Institute; with Ellyn Bader, PhD., of the Couples Institute; and with the Gottman Institute.
In the summer of 2018, after 20 years in private practice in southern California, I relocated to expanded my availability to clients in the surrounding area of Hood County, Texas where I am now licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in both states of California (license #38834) and Texas (license #203320). My corporation of 15 years as Rancho Family Counseling, Inc has been dissolved and I recently incorporated as Trauma & Recovery Solutions, Inc. in the state of Texas.
In addition, I now utilize Teletherapy which has allowed me to continued to meet with my clients located in California and now throughout both states. Please click Services and drop down to Teletherapy for further details.
Teletherapy is providing therapy through a live video connection, over the internet. The same treatment is provided to you as you would receive in person., it’s just done through a computer, tablet, or a smart phone! If you’ve ever used Skype on your computer or FaceTime on your iPhone, you’ve used the same type of technology Teletherapy uses. Only your sessions are conducted over a HIPAA compliant connection in the comfort and privacy of your own home or office. No more fighting traffic or taking time to travel distances for private sessions.
I would be happy to offer a more complete list of my training and further information about Teletherapy upon request as I am continually expanding my training, knowledge, and skills to better move my clients towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.
